I'm shocked, pleased and kinda humbled.
I've just made Sire.
Thanks to imagesinwords, who decided to give me her masters mark, I'm now Sire.
Thanks Images, you RAWK!
I really think VR should have a Journals RSS feed for people to put on their Google homepage, showing the snippets of between 3 and 9 latest entries. Just a thought. Great linkbait.
I've noticed there's some people on here who I just feel a sort of connection with. Nothing specific, just something about the person that makes me want to get to know them better. I'm not naming any names though!
It's strange how you can get 'vibes' from people hundreds, even thousands of miles away via a computer screen. I guess it comes down to how well they put their online selves across.
Hmm. Rather an unexpected ad to see on this site, considering the nudity policy...
Just been reading through some of the comments left on a particular profile and I came across this text stamp:
Wow. I've just been looking through the really early threads in the general section of the forum (don't ask me why - I'm bored) - and I'm talking about back in 2004 here - and there's such a big difference between then and now! I'm actually seeing *shock horror* irrelevant posts!
It's madness I tell you - regular conversations about nothing in particular instead of the stringent, must-stay-on-topic-or-get-a-bollocking rules we see today. Chaos rules!!
Even weirder, Cancer actually gets involved with the conversations! 2004 VR seemed like a fun place to be...
Really...if you have 5 profiles, is there really any need to spam the journal page with identical entries, one after another??
"A picture is worth a thousand words"
Yes, so you've committed Plagiarism!
Do people honestly think that a profile consisting of nothing but pictures and a horrible, clashing, repeating background is worth a 10?
I've got news for you honey; I was being GENEROUS with that 3.
See, this is why I avoid rating the crappy profiles as much as possible now. The arrogant fuckwits always go through each rate when they finally get premium, forgetting that their profiles haven't always looked good. Not that this one does anyway...it's still awful, but now it's just awful WITH a premium skin :-P
Because both threads about email scammers have closed, I'll have to put this in here instead.
This thread outlined yet another email scam and gave a link to a page of Yahoo results containing the email address in question.
One of those results was this dating site. The site itself is safe to view, and gives 6 pages of email addresses known to be used by scammers.
Now, because there are so many it's going to be a long process to find out if an email you've been sent is on these lists - but there's an easy way.
Type the following into Google:
site:www.datingnmore.com
followed by a space then the email address you're checking out. This will search the entire site for references to that email address. The URL the scam emails appear on are like this:
http://www.datingnmore.com/fraud/scam_email.htm or
http://www.datingnmore.com/fraud/scam_email3.htm
etc.
These emails may not always seem dangerous, but as was pointed out in one of the threads; they can lead to bigger, nastier things. Don't get caught out.
Thinking about doing another themed profile. I love my Labyrinth one but I think it may be time for a change. I'm pondering the possibility of a Rocky Horror-based one...watch this space...
